چکیده

Groundwater is one of the most precious natural resource which supports human health, economic development and ecological diversity. Remote sensing Geographical Information System (GIS) Techniques have been effectively used for investigation potentiality groundwater in Fakai local government area. The dataset this research work are Landsat 8 Operational land imager (OLI), ASTER DEM, Topographical map Geological from essential criteria were obtained. study Weighted Linear Combination approach involves mathematical weighing ranking criteria. Multi-criteria evaluation was carried out on all using ArcGIS 10.4. Spatial analysis derived result Suitability Index (SI) value created pairwise comparison analysis. suitability recharge area hence produced index. shows four classes include highly suitable, moderately less suitable least suitable. Thus, found towards northern part, around center some regions part serves as an indicator that has good potential recharge.

Using geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) in zoning nitrate concentration in the groundwater of Birjand, Iran

Previous studies have shown that the presence of nitrate in drinking water can cause several diseases especially in the infants, such as cancer and blue baby. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has since adopted the 50 mg/l standard as the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for nitrate for regulated public water systems. This study aimed to evaluate the concentration of nitrate in the drink...
